A monthly event for women and non-binaries to play board games in a safe environment, while enjoying scones and tea.
The Devonshire Society is a Melbourne based, women only board gaming social group for women, by women. Our social group welcomes people from the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to create a supportive and safe space for women to enjoy board games.
Our vision is to create regular warm and welcoming social events to play board games in Melbourne. With a relaxed friendly atmosphere (plus tea and scones!) we hope to be a place where both current board gamers and those who are curious to discover this amazing pastime can come along and feel welcome.
What do we play?
There will be a range of games available, from beginner to more experienced.
We play modern board games that are fun and relatively easy to learn. We’re more than happy for new people of all experience levels to come and we’re always eager to teach.
How about Food and Drinks?
Could it be a Devonshire Society event without scones? So, there will be scones with tea and coffee, and other snacks.
If you prefer to BYO, Fairfield Community Room’s Kitchenette has a stove/oven combo for heating and serving purposes and a fridge, freezer, microwave and bench space.
For more options, station street has plenty of cafes and restaurants, all within walking distance.
Do I have to be a Melbourne Meeples Inc. Member to attend?
No, though if you are not a member, entry fee is $10 to help cover the cost of the scones, snacks, games library and the general administrative tasks.
For members, fee is $5 (become a member)
