Melbourne’s favourite board game flea market is back! Everything you need to know about buying and selling games can be found here.

When and Where?

The 2026 Melbourne Board Game Market will run from 10am-4pm on Saturday 1st Augst 2026 at the Coburg Town Hall.

The flea market will be held in the ‘Concert Hall’ meeting rooms accessible from the far side of the main hall.

If you’re wanting to sell games at this year’s flea market, please read the instructions below carefully, and pay extra close attention to the dates and times.

Important: the flea market is for selling second hand games only.

How will the flea market work?

For buyers

The bring and buy will run like a regular game store. Browse the games and if you find something you want, come up to the till and buy it! Card payments only.

For sellers

Sellers will need to give us some details ahead of time, including the games you wish to sell (so we can print labels), and the details we need to pay you the proceeds for what you sold.

Note that we will have a maximum capacity of games we can sell at the event and will close submissions once we go beyond 1000 games.  We will be monitoring capacity as we go and post on the Melbourne Meeples Facebook and Discord accounts if we are getting close to capacity.

How to sell your games

Before the day

Create your game list.

Access the game list template here. Save a copy of the sheet so  you can edit it, or download it as a csv to edit in Excel. Enter your game names, price and any notes for the label, keeping the notes short as they need to fit!

Once done save your game list as your_name.csv. Using your actual name, obviously, not “your_name”. You will be prompted to upload your file when you fill in your seller registration form.

For the market we ask that you limit submissions to 100 games for any one seller, and we will close seller registrations once we have over 1000 games.

Read the article we published last year to find out more.

Complete your seller registration form

Complete your seller information form here. Registration for sellers (and this form) will open on July 6th  and will close by Monday July 20th 2026 or earlier if we hit capacity which is very likely to be before that.

Make sure to include your PayID so we can pay you the proceeds. Note that we only support PayID, because it reduces the risk of errors when processing payments.

If we go over capacity we reserve the right to ask sellers with larger lists to reduce these for the benefit of smaller sellers. However it is still first come first served and we will close registrations if we fill up.

Check that you’re happy with the terms

We will do our best to keep your games safe during the day, but note that all items are left at the seller’s risk and we cannot be held responsible for lost property or damaged items.

There will be a small charge of 10% deducted to cover the costs of running this event. This will be calculated once based on the total sales of your games, so if we sell $100 of your games we will pay you $90 after the event.

You must pick up any unsold games at the Melbourne Board Game Market between 3pm and 4pm. Any uncollected games after this time will be donated as the Melbourne Meeples committee see fit.

On the day

Checking your games in

You can check your games in between 9-10am on the morning of the event (note that the market opens at 10). We will give you labels for your games, which you will need to apply to your boxes. Please bring your labelled games back to us. We will check any off the list that you didn’t bring and ask you to pop them on the shelves.

You can bring games to check in to the back entrance of the concert hall rooms as we will open the external doors for this period (weather permitting). We will ask that in fairness to all buyers you then enter the market as a buyer by joining the queue, so the earlier you check your games in the closer to the front you will be!

Adjusting prices

To amend a price before the market starts, we will do this by hand on the day.

For discounting later in the day we will have a selection of pre-defined discount rates and stickers for those (e.g. 20% off, 40% off etc). Come and ask us for some stickers from the desk and add those on or next to the price label on your game, and we will apply that discount at the till.

Your seller ticket is your proof that you’re really you so hold on to it!

Be aware that even giving you some stickers may be tricky during the morning rush as we will be too busy selling your games! However unless prices are far too high it’s not normally worth discounting games during the first hour.

Collecting unsold games

To collect your unsold games please come between 3-4pm.

Any uncollected games after this time will be donated as the Melbourne Meeples committee see fit.

How do I get paid?

We will transfer your proceeds via bank transfer, using the PayID you provided, no later than seven days after the event.
