On August 3rd, Melbourne Meeples celebrated our tenth birthday.
We marked the occasion with a lovely members party at Gaming Arena, with lots and lot of games played and this fabulous cake!
One member asked at the event how the tenth birthday of MeepleCon came before that of Melbourne Meeples itself. The first MeepleCon came before Melbourne Meeples was formally incorporated as a not-for-profit organisation, so the weekend just gone was the anniversary of that event.
It’s a quiet month now, or at least quiet by Meeples standards as there’s plenty of gaming to be done. MeepleCon 2024 is coming, and tickets will go live over the next few weeks so watch out for that in the coming weeks, as well as events to support the amazing RUOK To Play initiative in September.
For members, membership cards for 2024/25 are being printed and will be sent over the next few weeks. This year they will have a QR code on the back so you can look up this year’s list of retail partner offers.
Board in the East will be back at the Amaroo Centre in Chadstone on Friday August 9th from 6pm.
The Devonshire Society will be happening on Saturday 10th August, running 11.30am – 5.45pm. Come for a chill day of games, chat, tea and scones with some lovely people.
NSEG will be running this month on Sunday 11th August and Sunday 25th August, as always at the Croxton Park Hotel in Thornbury.
Board to Death will be back at True North on Thursday 15th August adding the maximum amount of rock n’ roll to a night of gaming, at least until Devir’s GenCon release ‘Rock Hard’ hits our shores!
Games After Dark will be back at the Watsonia Library Community Room on Friday August 23rd from 5:00pm. Join us for some board games suitable for all ages! And don’t forget you can bring food in!
Finally Board in the West will be back at the Point Cook Community Centre on Friday 6th September.
